AIRBNB CLEANING & LAUNDRY FAQS
Airbnb does not manage cleaning. If you own a property that you rent through Airbnb, you must manage all aspects of the property, including cleaning, laundry and housekeeping. However, Airbnb does give you the option of charging a cleaning fee for each guest. Many hosts working through Airbnb choose to have their property managed by a short-stay accommodation management company like Cloudbnb. We take care of all cleaning, laundry, and housekeeping for you, as well as all other tasks, such as online bookings, key exchange, customer service, and property maintenance. Please get in touch to find out more.
Airbnb cleaners do more than just vacuuming and tidying. They must make your space spotlessly clean and tidy, with every corner looking hotel-worthy. They wash dishes, empty bins, launder sheets and towels and water plants. On top of that, they must make your home look welcoming for the next guests. This may involve turning down sheets, preparing a welcome basket, arranging flowers, or leaving a note to welcome the next guests.
An Airbnb cleaner has solid management skills, as hosts and rental managers rely on them to complete the job correctly and on time.
Cloudbnb will restock guest essentials, such as soaps, tea, coffee, and snacks. If you would like to provide your guests with more supplies, we can arrange this, provided you supply us with the goods in advance.
Sorry, no — Cloudbnb do not offer cleaning services independently. Our cleaning, housekeeping and laundry service is part of our short-stay property management package. For more information, please get in touch.

No. Typically, the host takes care of all laundry matters.
Yes, you can charge a cleaning fee for your short-term rental. Go to your settings in your booking platform and set the desired amount.
According to the Airbnb website, guests should not have to do deep cleaning. However, “they should not leave the listing in a state that requires excessive or deep cleaning (multi-dishes, sold carpets, stains from pets, etc.).”
Unless your guests stay longer than a week, the host is expected to perform all laundry duties once the guests have left.
The host must perform a thorough clean in between each stay. This involves cleaning and changing laundry, emptying bins, vacuuming, sweeping, polishing floorboards, dusting, disinfecting all surfaces and more.
Purchase fast-drying sheets and towels, and you’ll save considerable time doing laundry. As soon as you start your laundry, inspect all sheets and pillowcases for stains — and work on any stains immediately. After drying your sheets, fold them properly — this will help to avoid creases — so you’ll need to spend less time ironing. Sort your sheets into piles according to their size and label the storage area so there’s no confusion or time spent checking the size of the sheets. Finally, wash your duvet covers and decorative pillow covers using a short cycle to save time.
Generally, you should provide each guest with two towels, a washcloth and a hand towel for each guest. If you don’t have washing facilities, consider adding an extra tail for every two nights exceeding two nights. TIP: Don’t provide too many towels for guests only staying a few nights. Remember, the more towels you provide, the more your guests will use!
Cleaning and sanitising throw pillows can be time-consuming and age or weather the pillow. If pillows are purely decorative, inspect them for dirt and wash them accordingly. TIP: To freshen and sanitise pillows, skip the washing machine and place the pillows in a hot dryer for 10 minutes. This will freshen the pillow and remove any lingering dirt or dust. Throw a wet towel on the dryer with the pillows for an even deeper clean. The steam created will eliminate bacteria and built-up grime.
We suggest you make the following supplies available to clean your rental: vacuum, mop, glass cleaner, all-purpose cleaner, floor cleaner, mould remover, disinfectant, microfibre cloth, toilet brush, wood polish and detergent.
Generally, consistently booked short-term rentals should be deep cleaned every 3 to 6 months. To work out how often you should deep clean your rental, inspect your property and consider any issues such as bad odours, stains, dirt or dust, excessive clutter — or bad reviews.
Hiring a cleaner trained properly in short-stay rental turnovers can give you all sorts of benefits. You will likely notice higher cleanliness ratings, improved guest satisfaction, five-star reviews, and repeat bookings. You’ll also have someone do the hard work for you!
