Add these amenities to your Airbnb, and watch your bookings grow!
It’s easy to be too familiar with our own properties, so knowing what your guests need will love can sometimes get quite tricky. But it’s vital you know what your guests want and one of the best ways to do this is with the right amenities.
Great amenities make your property stand out. They also make your guests feel more comfortable and cater to your targeted guests’ needs and preferences. To help you along, we’ve created a list of surefire amenities known to please Airbnb guests every time.
Excellent Wi-Fi
There’s nothing like the convenience of a brilliant Wi-Fi connection, so if you haven’t got high-speed Wi-Fi, consider an upgrade. Remember, many guests are travelling for business, and while some may be on holiday, surfing the net, checking emails and grabbing details for a nearby restaurant are all made much better by superfast Internet speed.
2. Comfortable bedding
A good night’s sleep is one of life’s most underrated events and is essential for a memorable stay. So, where possible, invest in good-quality mattresses. If that’s pushing your budget too much, consider mattress toppers, which can improve comfort with minimal expense. Don’t skimp on linens, though, as guests expect hotel-quality sheets. Alternatively, invest in pure linen instead of cotton for a more ‘luxe home’ feel they won’t forget.
3. Create a pillow library
Yes – a pillow library! When it comes to pillows, you can’t please everyone, so instead of second-guessing preferences, create a pillow library to suit even the fussiest sleeper. This exercise isn’t as expensive as you think, because part of the library will include small, soft, cheaper pillows suitable for small children. Have a range from the smallest and lightest to the most expensive mid-strength and firm varieties, and store them in a wardrobe or large cupboard area for them to pick and choose. It’s a guaranteed Airbnb pleaser!
4. A well-equipped kitchen
Your guests are staying at home and not in a hotel, so they’ll want to cook as if they were at home. While you don’t have to have a colossal amount of items, ensure you have all the essentials (cookware, appliances, utensils, storage items) plus some added extras that you think they’ll appreciate.
5. A coffee machine
Almost everyone loves a good cup of coffee in the morning, so a user-friendly coffee machine is an excellent addition to your home. The safest bet is a coffee pod machine, as it’s always a crowd-pleaser. However, if you feel your guests would appreciate a more advanced coffeemaker and grinder, nothing is stopping you.
6. Washing machine and dryer
Even short-stay guests appreciate a handy washing machine and dryer to use. Plus, if your guests have children, it’s a no-brainer. Remember to include user instructions, and always have complimentry detergent on hand.
7. Netflix
Most guests expect Netflix these days, so add a subscription to your TV setup, and once again, don’t forget to leave instructions.
8. Workspace
For all the reasons we’ve mentioned regarding Internet speed, guests also appreciate a decent workspace to pop open their laptops and catch up on life’s affairs. It needn’t be huge, but ensure you have a quiet desk and chair area with appropriate lighting and nearby power points.
9. Bath or hot tub
Baths and hot tubs may be a predictable addition, but they are popular for a reason. Guests want to indulge when they are taking a break, and a soak in a hot tub is an easy way to pamper and please.
10. Outdoor dining area
Your guests will appreciate making the most of our famous West Australian climate by indulging in alfresco dining. You must make the area appealing, though, by adding a decent array of outdoor plants and attractive lighting to set the scene. Bonus points if you can add a barbecue or grill to the mix.
11. Outdoor shower
For many, having an outdoor shower is a little exotic, particularly if they live in a colder climate. Outdoor showers are an easy addition, are attractive to look at and always create an experience to remember.
